About Membership

At Rock Chapel, membership is a matter of faith and

participation. If you have received the life-changing message

of Jesus Christ and have become a follower of Jesus, we

believe you are a member of Jesus' church (Acts 2:47). If you

are a member of Jesus' church, then that makes you good

enough for us! The practical application of this belief is that

we have no formal church membership at Rock Chapel. We

accept people based on their testimony of a life-altering

confrontation with Jesus Christ.

In place of formal church membership we ask that you commit to:

  1. Protect the unity of the church by acting in love towards others, refusing to carry gossip, and by supporting the ministry leaders.
  2. To share the responsibility of the church by praying for its needs, inviting the unchurched to attend, and welcoming those who visit.
  3. To serve in the ministry of the church by developing a servant's heart and making yourself available to lead and assist.
  4. To support the mission of the church by attending the worship services faithfully and living a life that strives to be obedient to God.

Common Questions:

Do you accept membership letters from other churches?

If a person wants to move their membership letter to Rock Chapel from another church, we will hold your letter. However, we prefer that you simply accept Rock Chapel's membership philosophy.

When can I cast votes in church business meetings?

The by-laws of Rock Chapel stipulate that a voting member must consistently attend services at Rock Chapel for at least one year, be a professing Christian who lives a life that gives evidence of taking God's Word seriously, and be at least 18 years old.
